Spanish dissemination event
On Thursday 25th March, the dissemination event organized by CEPS Projectes Socials took place. As the restrictions due to the pandemic were still very strict, the dissemination event was held on-line. A total of 16 people registered for the webinar. After the presentation of the project and a short demo on how the platform works, there was time for discussion with the participants. New ideas for the use of Tutorbot were discussed as future opportunities for exploitation. Thanks to all who shared with us the results of this project!
4 things we learnt from developing a tutor chatbot from scratch
The creation of a chatbot for education is still an innovation. Creating it from scratch, without using a chatbot creation platform, is even more difficult. What makes the process interesting is that it forces us to analyse the role of a teacher or tutor, and to understand what aspects of tutoring could be handled by a chatbot. Again, the idea is not to create robot teachers, but to help human teachers focus on the most rewarding aspects of their work, while providing learners with as many tools as possible to support their learning process. 4th transnational meeting, held at home
Today we were supposed to be in Reggio Emilia, in our 4th Transnational meeting. The coronavirus crisis of course changed the plans, but we didn't stop working. We met on-line in a very productive meeting. All the partners participated, and we could plan, as far as it is possible these days, on how to continue the activities of our project. Right now Germany, Greece and Italy are developing their contents, to be tested whenever we can all meet the students again. Meanwhile, some very interesting improvements have been made in the platform, and we are developing a much friendly tutorbot!! [...]
6th International Conference for the Promotion of Educational Innovation
Our partner in Greece Aketh is planning to present Tutorbot project in the 6th International Conference for the Promotion of Educational Innovation, to be held in Larissa, Greece on October 16th, 17 th & 18th 2020. We are sure the experience of Tutorbot is interesting to be shared in this context! We'll keep you posted 😉
3rd transnational meeting held in Barcelona
On October 14th and 15th the third transnational meeting of the project was held in Barcelona, at Convent de Sant Agustí. Although we faced quite some difficulties to arrive due to local protests, everything went well and all the partners could arrive fine and on time. Two days of intensive work, focused on training methodologies for chatbots: finding out technical improvements of the platform, sharing with the partners the learnings of the Alpha version implementation developed in Spain and training to start the Beta testing in Italy, Germany and Greece. We have good news, we are in the final part of the development of the Alpha version of #tutorbot Once the content creation part is finished and in parallel with programming, we are in the "bot" training phase! More news in the next days!
